Rajini to payback Distributors

Superstar Rajinikanth has reportedly decided to pay Rs. 10 crores back to the distributors and theatre owners as they incurred huge loses due to the unexpected poor performance of latest Rajni starrer Kuselan (Kathanayukudu in Telugu) at the box office. It was ace director Mani Ratnam who started this trend of compensating distributors and theatre-owners, when his Iruvar failed at the box office in 1997.

Reports say that Rajinikanth has held secret meetings with the administrators of Pyramid Saimira, the distributors of Kuselan, and assured them that he will pay Rs. 10 crores to the distributors and theatre owners who have lost their money.

Earlier, Rajinikanth did the same when his much-hyped Baba (2003) failed to create waves at the box office. The superstar gave huge sums to the compensate the losses of disappointed distributors and theatre-owners.

Meanwhile, director P. Vasu has dismissed reports that Kuselan has put up a bad show at the box office. He said that the movie has turned out to be a Kuberan at the box office
