India Tuesday confirmed an outbreak of bird flu in two districts of West Bengal.
“We have confirmed from the samples that the poultry died of the bird flu virus,” said Pradip Kumar, secretary of the animal husbandry department in the ministry of agriculture.
“The Bhopal-based High Security Animal Disease Laboratory has confirmed the outbreak and we have sent 60 rapid response teams to the state for the initial ground work,” Kumar told reporters here.
